Random (Dumped) Packing
Metal and plastic random packing for absorbers, strippers, scrubbers and distillation columns, supplied with the support and hold-down grids to install it.

Random packing gives high surface area and low pressure drop in a bed that is simple to install and replace. We supply the classic ring and saddle shapes in stainless steel, carbon steel and plastics, sized to your column and duty.
For a bed replacement we can supply the packing, support plate, hold-down grid and liquid distributor as one package, and supervise removal and reloading on site.
- Raschig (R-ring), Pall (P-ring), cascade mini ring (C-ring), IMTP-type (I-ring)
- Sizes from 10 mm to 125 mm
- SS304, SS316L, SS317L, carbon steel, PP
- Support plates and hold-down grids
- Bed replacement with site supervision
Large Volumes, Packed and Ready to Ship
Random packing is ordered by the cubic metre, often for several beds or columns in one turnaround. We check, bag and palletise every order in Senai, so a full column charge leaves our workshop in one delivery, ready to lift to the tower on site.
- Full column charges delivered together
- Bagged and palletised for forklift or crane handling
- Rings checked for size and damage before packing
- Support and hold-down grids packed with the order when supplied as a set

Packing Types

R-Ring (Raschig)
The simplest cylinder with equal height and diameter; void fraction 83–95 %.

P-Ring (Pall)
Windows and inward tongues in the wall use the inner surface: about 50 % more capacity than Raschig at half the pressure drop.

C-Ring (Cascade Mini Ring)
Height-to-diameter 1:2 with a flared end: stronger, lower resistance and better distribution.

I-Ring (IMTP-Type)
Between a ring and a saddle: high capacity, low pressure drop and high strength. The most widely used type.
Sizes and Void Fraction
| Type | Nominal sizes (mm) | Void fraction |
|---|---|---|
| R-ring | 10, 13, 16, 19, 25, 32, 38, 50, 75 | 83–95 % |
| P-ring | 16, 25, 38, 50, 90 | 93–98 % |
| C-ring | 25, 38, 44, 50, 63, 90, 125 | 97–98 % |
| I-ring | 15, 25, 40, 50, 60, 70 | 93–98 % |
